The name Ogden is part of the ancient legacy of the Anglo Saxon tribes of Britain. It is a product of when the family lived near an oak valley, or came from a place called Ogden, in West Yorkshire, Ogden is a local surname, which belongs to the category of hereditary surnames. Some of the first settlers of this name or some of its variants were: David Ogden settled in Delaware Bay in 1682; Randall Ogden Arived in Barbaydos in 1634; John Ogden arrived in Conneticut in 16 35; Charles, David, Emmanual, Henry, James, John, Samuel, Robert and William Ogden all arrived in Philadelphia between 1840 and 1860.
